Le gouvernement du Niger a décidé, dimanche 3 septembre 2023, de la réouverture de l’espace aérien. Il avait été fermé le 6 aout dernier.
« L’espace aérien de la République du Niger, du sol à l’illimité est ouvert à tous les vols commerciaux internationaux et domestiques », a annoncé dimanche, le gouvernement de la transition du Niger. Selon le communiqué, cette décision ne s’applique pas aux vols militaires et autres vols spéciaux qui eux, sont soumis à « l’autorisation des autorités compétentes » du Niger.
Une circulaire émise par l’aviation civile du Niger le 6 aout dernier avait indiqué que, « l’aéroport de Niamey est fermé à tous les vols, sauf cas exceptionnels autorisés au préalable par les autorités compétentes ».
« Face à la menace d’intervention qui se précise à partir des pays voisins, l’espace aérien nigérien est fermé à compter de ce jour, jusqu’à nouvel ordre. Toute tentative de violation de l’espace aérien entraînera une riposte énergique et instantanée », avait indiqué un communiqué du Conseil national pour la sauvegarde de la patrie (CNSP), qui a pris le pouvoir le 26 juillet 2023.
