Dans une annonce publiée par le ministre de la santé publique, Dr Idi Illiassou Maïnassara, il peut être lu que la campagne de vaccination contre la covid-19 s’est étendue dans l’ensemble des régions du pays le 4 mai 2021. A Niamey, environ 10 000 personnes se sont déjà faites vacciner sur 43 125 personnes identifiées comme cibles « prioritaires ».
En effet, lancée depuis le 29 mars 2021 à Niamey, la campagne de vaccination pour être immuniser du coronavirus poursuit calmement sa route et est désormais déployée dans les sept autres régions du pays. Selon le ministre de la santé publique, Dr Idi Illiassou Maïnassara toutes les dispositions seront prises pour que les centres de vaccination disposent, en permanence, de vaccins conservés dans les conditions requises. « Des consignes strictes ont été données dans toutes les régions du pays pour que le vaccin AstraZeneca soit administré aux personnes âgées de 55 ans et plus et le vaccin Sinopharm, aux personnes âgées de 18 ans et plus » souligne-t-il.
Notons qu’au Niger, ce sont les vaccins Astra Zeneca (350 000 doses reçues) et Sinopharm (400 000 doses reçues) qui sont utilisés dans le cadre de cette campagne de vaccination. « À l’échelle nationale, la cible prioritaire totale est estimée à 11 063 018 personnes ; ce qui représente 47,7 % de la population générale de 2021 » a précisé dans un précédent communiqué, Abaché Ranaou secrétaire général du ministère de la Santé publique.
Pour rappel, à l’heure, le Niger présente 5 261 cas confirmés de covid-19 dont 4 865 guéris, 191 décès et 205 cas actifs dont 18 en état critique.
