On se serait cru dans un film de science-fiction. Ce que l’on pourrait appeler un OVNI (Objet Volant Non Identifié) est tombé du ciel la nuit du 31 décembre à Tazai dans le département de Tanout, avec un bruit assourdissant et provoquant un énorme cratère. Une mission d’experts dépêchée sur les lieux, s’il a constaté qu’il s’agissait d’un métal très lourd, n’a toujours pas levé le mystère sur son origine.
Jusque-là, par mesure de prudence, après l’alerte qu’elles ont donnée, les populations de la localité avaient été enjointes de ne pas s’approcher du lieu du crash. Les premières photographies qui ont circulé sur l’objet laissaient entrevoir un imposant métal de forme cylindrique profondément incrusté dans le sol suite à sa chute.
C’est le constat que fera aussi la mission d’experts qui a approché de près l’objet mais n’a toujours pas déterminé son origine si ce n‘est son extrême lourdeur. En effet, tous les efforts pour déloger l’objet de son cratère de 6 m de diamètre via la traction de deux véhicules de types 4X4 se sont révélés infructueux. Les travaux sont toujours en cours pour extraire l’obejte et ainsi pousser les examens pour déterminer sa provenance. Pour l’heure, les hypothèses évoquées font état de débris d’un satellite qui après avoir erré dans l’atmosphère a fini par tomber comme cela se passe quelques fois à d’autres endroits du globe.
