Le Président de République du Niger Mohamed Bazoum va lancer les travaux de construction de la ligne Haute Tension de transport d’énergie Kandadji – Niamey ce mardi 25 Octobre 2022, a appris l’ANP d’un communiqué de la Présidence de la République.
Cette ligne haute tension d’un coût de 55,6 milliards de FCFA (83,8 millions $), financée par la Banque Islamique de Développement, vise à sécuriser l’alimentation électrique du Niger à travers la fourniture d’environ 600 GWh d’énergie propre, renouvelable à faible coût de la région du Fleuve (avec renforcement de la station de Gorou Banda) et contribuera également à la réduction du coût de la production nationale d’électricité, renseigne le communiqué officiel.
La fourniture de cette énergie, indique-t-on, sera assurée par le barrage de Kandadji, dont la construction a atteint un niveau de 25% selon le Secrétaire général de l’agence de Barrage de Kandadji (ABK).
« Le barrage de Kandadji est en effet au centre des préoccupations du Président Mohamed BAZOUM qui n’a cessé, comme lors de la réunion de haut niveau du Programme Kandadji tenue le 24 mai 2022, d’accélérer la mise en œuvre de ce projet structurant pour le Niger », souligne le communiqué de la Présidence.
Cette infrastructure hydro-électrique est aussi l’élément central d’un vaste Programme Kandadji de régénération des écosystèmes et de mise en valeur du fleuve Niger (P-KRESMIN) dont l’objectif assigné est d’assurer la préservation et la revitalisation des écosystèmes fluviaux, l’augmentation des productions agricoles et énergétiques mais aussi pour stimuler les emplois et ouvrir des perspectives économiques.
Longtemps en veilleuse, le lancement officiel du redémarrage des travaux de construction du barrage de Kandadji a eu lieu le 26 mars 2019 sur le site au pied du Mont Ourba sous la conduite du maitre d’œuvre, la China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC), rappelle-t-on.
Le Projet du Barrage de Kandadji est attendu pour être réceptionné en 2025.
Le mégaprojet du Barrage de Kandadji est un complexe hydro-agro-électrique d’un coût de 740 milliards de francs CFA (1,1 milliard d’euros) avec sa digue de 28 mètres de haut et d’une longueur d’environ 8,8 km qui sera doté d’un réservoir d’une capacité de 1 569 km3.
Il est aussi inscrit à l’agenda de la visite du Chef de l’Etat, une visite de ce vaste chantier.
