La situation sécuritaire dans la région du sahel demeure globalement sous contrôle, malgré quelques incidents enregistrés au cours de la semaine précédente. Les Forces de Défense et de Sécurité (FDS) poursuivent sans relâche leur mission de sécurisation des populations et de lutte contre les groupes armés terroristes dans toute la région de Diffa. Grâce à leurs patrouilles régulières, elles infligent des revers aux groupes armés terroristes (GAT).
Les FDS ont réussi à intercepter deux individus complices et ravitailleurs de Boko Haram, respectivement dans les localités de N’Guigmi et Toumour. Il est important de souligner que l’un de ces individus était activement recherché.
Les opérations de ratissage menées dans la région ont également donné des résultats satisfaisants. Les FDS ont appréhendé un combattant armé d’un fusil AK- 47 accompagné de 43 individus se dirigeant de manière suspecte depuis le lac vers N’Guigmi. Cette intervention a permis de prévenir une éventuelle menace.
Par ailleurs, grâce à la vaillance des FDS, une tentative d’incursion dans un campement peulh à l’est de Diffa a été déjouée. Leur promptitude et leur professionnalisme ont permis de contrer cette attaque potentielle.
Dans le cadre des opérations de ratissage menées dans la zone de Boulahi, les FDS ont fait preuve de bravoure et ont réussi à libérer plusieurs otages. De plus, elles ont saisi trois (3) motos qui étaient probablement utilisées par les groupes armés terroristes pour leurs activités.
Suite aux nombreuses plaintes reçues concernant les actes de délinquance commis par des jeunes et les demandes d’assistance des populations locales, les Forces de Sécurité Intérieure (Police, Garde Nationale du Niger et Gendarmerie Nationale) ont mené une opération d’envergure à travers la ville de Diffa. Ces jeunes délinquants perturbent la vie paisible des citoyens en commettant des vols, des raquettes, en vendant et en consommant des produits stupéfiants.
Grâce à cette opération, de nombreux petits criminels (revendeurs de stupéfiants, voleurs, toxicomanes, etc.) ont été appréhendés à Diffa et dans ses environs, notamment dans les camps de réfugiés. De plus, une importante quantité de produits stupéfiants a été saisie.
Le mercredi 21 juin 2023, la commune de Toumour a eu l’honneur de recevoir une importante délégation composée des autorités administratives et militaires de la région, ainsi qu’une délégation militaire venue de N’Djamena.
Au nom des populations bénéficiaires, M. Daouda BARDE, Secrétaire général Adjoint du Gouvernorat de Diffa, a officiellement réceptionné des infrastructures sociales lors de cet événement. La cérémonie s’est déroulée en présence du Commandant de la Zone de Défense N°5, représentant le Commandant du Secteur 4 de la Force Multinationale Mixte (FMM), ainsi que du représentant du Commandant de la Force Multinationale.
Ces infrastructures comprennent Un bâtiment de trois (3) salles de classe ; Un bloc administratif ;
Quatre (4) pompes à motricité humaine, dont Deux (2) situées dans l’enceinte de l’école et Deux (2) installées dans le village.
Il convient de souligner que toutes ces réalisations ont été rendues possibles grâce à l’engagement du Secteur 4 de la Force Multinationale Mixte, qui reste attentif aux préoccupations de la population, avec le soutien financier de l’Union Européenne par le biais de l’ONG COJINTA. Les responsables administratifs et coutumiers du département ont exprimé leur gratitude envers la FMM. Selon eux, ces infrastructures témoignent une fois de plus de la bonne collaboration entre les Forces de Défense et de Sécurité (FDS) et les populations de la région.
