Lancée, il y a quatre (4) mois sur le territoire nigérien, Tsaron Kassa est une opération de lutte contre la fraude menée par la Douane nigérienne. Cette initiative motivée par des enjeux économiques, sécuritaires et financiers a permis de réaliser d’importantes saisies, évaluées à plus de 7milliards de FCFA. Il s’agit notamment de:
108 365 litres d’essences et 140 970 litres de Gasoil,
1714 véhicules immobilisés ainsi que 5837 motos,
299 tricycles, 32 263 cartouches de cigarettes, 7984 pièces de pagnes et 2533 casiers de jus et boissons.
Aussi cette opération a permis de confisquer 19429 litres d’huiles moteurs, 308 colis de stupéfiants, 5251 colis de produits pharmaceutiques, 691 cartouches de produits et appareils de chicha.
Pour l’armement, la saisie comprend une AK-47, un pistolet automatique calibre 8mm, et diverses munitions. Parmi les objets saisis figurent 166 appareils Talk-Walkie, 28 appareils Starlink, 4474 boutons de dynamite, ainsi que 53 bonbonne de mercure. De plus de 120 animaux d’espèces menacées protégés par la CITES ont été récupérés ainsi que plus de 5000 colis de marchandises diverses enregistrées avec 73 personnes interpelées et mises à la disposition de la justice.
Selon le Colonel Mahamadou Siguirou Mindaoudou, chef de division de la surveillance de territoire et coordinateur national de l’opération Tsaron Kassa, cité dans une récente interview sur la RTN, l’objectif assignée à cette opération, est d’accroître les recettes fiscales attendues, contribuant ainsi aux soutiens de l’économie nationale. « la consommation des produits locaux a significativement augmente, les produits pharmaceutiques saisis, souvent dangereux pour la santé devraient réduire les risques sanitaires pour la population » a-t-il expliqué.
Il a enfin appelé la population à soutenir les forces de l’ordre dans la lutte contre la fraude pour garantir le succès continu de cette opération.
