Face à une grave pénurie de carburant frappant le nord du Mali, une opération conjointe des forces armées nigériennes et maliennes a permis l’acheminement sécurisé de 40 citernes depuis Niamey jusqu’à Gao. Cette initiative, saluée par les autorités militaires, illustre la coopération renforcée entre les deux pays dans un contexte de crise énergétique et sécuritaire.
La télévision publique nigérienne, Télé Sahel, a rapporté le jeudi 1er Mai 2025 que les citernes avaient été escortées par les forces nigériennes jusqu’à Labezzanga, poste-frontière entre les deux nations. À partir de ce point, les Forces armées maliennes (FAMa) ont pris le relais, assurant l’arrivée du convoi à Gao, une ville durement affectée par des ruptures de stock ces dernières semaines.
Lors de l’arrivée du convoi, le colonel Ibrahim Samassa, commandant de la première région militaire du Mali, a salué l’implication des autorités et la mobilisation des populations locales dans le succès de cette opération logistique. « Les FAMa restent prêtes à escorter les convois pour ravitailler les régions du nord en carburant et en produits de première nécessité », a-t-il affirmé.
