L’armée nigérienne a annoncé samedi la mort d’un soldat « tué par un engin explosif improvisé », et l’arrestation de 13 terroristes durant les opérations menées entre jeudi et samedi sur le territoire national.
Un chef de bande « tristement célèbre » pour ses exactions contre les populations civiles, de dangereux bandits armés et des individus formellement identifiés comme des membres de groupes criminels figurent parmi les terroristes arrêtés, a précisé l’armée dans son bulletin d’information.
Le Niger subit à ses frontières des exactions menées par plusieurs organisations terroristes, dont des groupes armés et bandits qui contrôlent le sud de la Libye, des groupes proches d’Al-Qaïda au Maghreb islamique et le groupe Boko Haram basé au Nigeria.
