Comme l’a résumé un internaute, Amadou Bounty Diallo, les Américains qui « captent et décortiquent tous les messages à travers le monde entier disent que la ville de Niamey risquerait de subir des attaques d’envergure dans les jours à venir ». Pour ce faire, l’ambassade invite les citoyens américains à être conscients de leur environnement et à faire preuve de prudence lorsqu’ils visitent des lieux tels que des banques, des supermarchés, des restaurants et des hôtels.
Au Niger, « il faut le dire, nous sommes curieux de nature et des attaques risqueraient de nous tuer par centaines. On connaît le mode opératoire des groupes criminels.
