Aboubacry Tall représentant par intérim du fond des Nations Unies pour l’Enfance (Unicef) au Niger a annoncé, ce 14 avril que son organisation allait reconstruire l’école ravagée par les flammes le 13 avril passé à Niamey. C’était à l’issue d’une audience que lui a accordé le président de la République, son excellence Mohamed Bazoum ce mardi.
Cet incendie qui avait emporté plusieurs salles de classe en paille et entraîné la mort d’une vingtaine d’élèves, dans le quartier Pays-Bas situé dans les environs de l’aéroport avait profondément ému tout le Niger. Le responsable onusien a également annoncé qu’à terme son institution allait aider au remplacement de toutes les classes en paillote sur le territoire national pour éviter que de tels drames ne se reproduisent.
Aboubacry Tall était également venu adresser ses félicitations à Mohamed Bazoum pour son accession à la magistrature suprême du pays.
Sur les dernières années, les indicateurs relatifs à l’éducation se sont considérablement améliorés au Niger. Avec l’appui des partenaires au développement, le pays s’est engagé dans un processus de remplacement de toutes les écoles en pailles par des écoles en dur.
