Le gouvernement nigérien a adopté, ce jeudi 12 mai 2022 en conseil des Ministres présidé par le Président de la République Mohamed Bazoum, le projet d’ordonnance modifiant et complétant le statut de l’opposition politique au Niger.
Le communiqué du conseil des Ministres indique que ‘’dans le cadre de la promotion de la bonne Gouvernance et de la consolidation des institutions démocratiques, il est apparu nécessaire de réviser l’ordonnance portant statut de l’opposition afin de permettre au Chef de file de l’Opposition d’exercer pleinement son rôle de porte-parole de cette institution’’.
Le même communiqué précise que ‘’les innovations apportées à cette ordonnance se résument ainsi à la formalisation du rôle du Chef de file de l’Opposition comme porte-parole officiel de l’opposition, à la détermination des modalités de désignation du Chef de de l’Opposition et de gestion du contentieux y relatif, et à la mise à la disposition du Chef de file de l’Opposition d’un Cabinet et de moyens de fonctionnement par l’Etat.
Notons que depuis 2010, l’opposition politique nigérienne dispose d’un statut qui régente son fonctionnement dans le pays, mais dont l’application n’a toujours pas été effective.
