Le M62, une coalition de la société civile nigérienne a convoqué mardi la presse à son siège à Niamey. Son leader veut faire passer un message aux soldats français basés au Niger : Ils doivent faire leurs valises. Après la dénonciation par la junte au pouvoir à Niamey, le 3 août, d’une série d’accords militaires avec la France, dont certains prévoient une période de préavis d’un mois.
A la fin de ce préavis, le M62 prévoit de pousser les soldats hors des frontières nigériennes.
“Nous ne laisserons pas une seconde aux forces françaises sur notre territoire à l’expiration de ce délai, comme le CNSP lui-même l’a fait savoir. Tous les villages, toutes les communes environnantes vont descendre sur la capitale et nous allons les faire sortir. Ils quitteront Niamey. Ils disent qu’ils sont au Niger, qu’ils ne vont pas partir… mais ils vont partir.”, tempête Abdoulaye Seydou, coordinateur national du M62.
Ce dernier avait été placé en détention préventive en janvier, puis condamné mi-avril, après que son mouvement a accusé les forces de défense et de sécurité (FDS) de massacres sur des populations civiles en représailles à une attaque jihadiste le 24 octobre 2022 contre un poste de police dans le sud du pays.
Mais la France a depuis fait savoir qu’elle ne reconnait pas la dénonciation des accords initiée par un pouvoir illégitime. Paris refuse ainsi de rapatrier ses 1 500 hommes déployés au Niger pour la lutte contre les djihadistes.
