Les résultats de la campagne agro-sylvo-pastorale et hydraulique de 2021 au Niger ne sont pas reluisants.
Le constat a été fait par le Gouvernement qui a envoyé des équipes qui ont sillonnés les huit (8) régions du pays. Dans la plupart de ces régions, un déficit de la production agricole à plus de 50% est constaté.
Lors d’une réunion de synthèse ce jeudi 11 Novembre 2021, le Premier ministre Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou a recueilli auprès des chefs de missions que les causes de ce déficit sont liées à plusieurs facteurs dont l’inégale répartition des pluies dans le temps et dans l’espace, les arrêts précoces des pluviométries, les attaques des ennemis des cultures par endroit, de feu de brousse, la hausse des prix des produits céréaliers, malgré leur disponibilité sur les marchés.
A ces raisons s’ajoutent l’irrégularité des pluies, l’insécurité dans certaines zones, des inondations dans d’autres, des attaques des ennemis des cultures.
En bref, la production agricole n’a pas répondu aux attentes du gouvernement. Cependant, le Gouvernement n’entend pas vivre cette situation comme une fatalité.
Ainsi, au cours de cette réunion gouvernementale, le Premier ministre a évoqué la nécessité d’élaborer un plan d’urgence compte tenu de la situation en attendant l’élaboration du plan global qui interviendra au mois de janvier.
Selon Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou, ce plan d’urgence peut couvrir les mois de novembre et décembre.
