Environ 1.176 militaires français ont définitivement quitté le sol nigérien en emportant une grande quantité de matériel de guerre, à la date de ce mercredi, en direction de N’Djamena (au Tchad) et de la France, dans le cadre du processus de désengagement français au Niger, a annoncé mercredi l’armée nigérienne dans son bulletin d’information hebdomadaire.
Le processus de retrait des forces françaises se déroule en toute sécurité. « Le colonel major Mahamane Sani Tchaou, chef d’état-major de l’armée de terre du Niger, a effectué mercredi une visite à la base aérienne de Niamey pour évaluer l’état actuel du rapatriement du matériel français à ce jour », a précisé la même source.
Les opérations de départ du premier convoi de militaires français basés au Niger ont débuté le 10 octobre, sous escorte des Forces de Défense et de Sécurité nigériennes, a indiqué un communiqué officiel nigérien.
La France dispose de plus de 1.500 soldats au Niger, stationnés sur des sites à Ouallam, Ayorou (Tabarey-Barey) et à Niamey. Fin
