Le 05 octobre est la journée retenue par l’UNESCO dédiée aux enseignants pour être l’une des 119 journées internationales de l’ONU. Cette journée, fait référence à la date de signature de la première recommandation entre l’UNESCO et l’Organisation Internationale du Travail (OIT) en 1966 sur les conditions de travail et d’existence du personnel enseignant, mais il a fallu 1994 pour que l’UNESCO consacre officiellement cette journée à l’enseignant. La création de l’Internationale de l’Education (IE) qui est le plus grand regroupement de syndicats d’enseignants au monde et dont le SNEN (Syndicat National des Enseignants du Niger) est membre fondateur en 1993, a permis de donner un écho mondial à cette célébration.
« Les jeunes enseignants, l’avenir de la profession » c’est le thème choisi par l’Internationale de l’Education section du Niger (IESNI) pour célébrer la journée internationale des enseignants en ce jour du 05 Octobre 2019 à travers une conférence-débat animée par son Secrétaire Général, Issoufou Arzika. « Cette journée est la nôtre », a-t-il déclaré d’entrée. « C’est pourquoi on note la présence massive de plusieurs syndicats membres de l’International de l’éducation et les autres syndicats ici présents. Elle nous permet de célébrer l’enseignant et sa profession, pas seulement de dire les problèmes uniquement mais de se soucier de la conduite du système éducatif, du rôle en tant que formateur que nous avons à jouer. Le thème de cette année interpelle, la profession est menacée, la demande est forte alors que l’offre n’est pas à la hauteur. »
Pour lui, outre les diverses difficultés auxquelles sont confrontés les enseignants, c’est le manque de conviction et de vocation chez la jeune garde qui met en péril le droit à l’éduction des enfants : « les jeunes qui viennent dans la profession viennent simplement parce qu’il n’y’a pas quelque chose à faire et même s’ils viennent c’est avec l’intention de partir à la moindre occasion », a déploré le SG de l’IESNI. « L’éducation est le socle du développement, c’est-à-dire que lorsque l’éducation est menacée, c’est le pays qui est menacé » dixit M.Arzika. La finalité d’une telle assise est de clôturer avec des recommandations et des propositions soumises par les participants qui seront par la suite adressées aux autorités afin de donner d’améliorer et de réorienter le système éducatif nigérien.
Pour sa part, Issa Kassoum, Président du Comité d’organisation de la Journée mondiale des enseignants n’a pas manqué de saluer l’effort de tous les participants et partenaires pour rendre effective cette célébration. On ne peut parler de Journée mondiale de l’Enseignant sans que des distinctions soient attribués à certains d’entre eux. Ceux-ci sont « désignés pour leur dévouement, leur vocation, leur ingéniosité, leur engagement, et leur sens élevé de sacrifice », a relevé M Kassoum qui précise que des récompenses leurs seront attribués grâce au soutien de la Première Dame Dr Lalla Malika Issoufou à travers sa fondation Tattalin Iyali qui parraine cette journée mondiale des enseignants au Niger depuis bientôt 8 ans.
La rencontre de ce samedi a enregistré la présence de plusieurs personnalités et acteurs de l’éducation dont entre autres : le conseiller technique du ministre de l’enseignement, les directeurs centraux des ministères en charge de l’éducation, les membres des ministères du comité d’organisation, le secrétaire générale de la Convention démocratique des travailleurs du Niger (CDTN), le coordinateur du regroupement des syndicats affiliés à l’IE au Niger, le président de ASO/EPT, les responsables des organisations de la société civile, anciens membres des exécutifs des enseignants.
