Pour marquer la journée internationale de lutte contre l’abus et le trafic des drogues au Niger, une cérémonie d’incinération des drogues et autres substances illicites et psychotropes s’est déroulée ce lundi 26 juin 2023, sur le site de Soray, sur la route de Dosso. À cet effet, une importante quantité de drogues saisies par les juridictions de Niamey, au titre de l’année 2022-2023, a été incinérée en présence du ministre de l’intérieur, Hamadou Adamou Souley, ainsi que plusieurs personnalités notamment le représentant régional de l’organisation des Nations Unies contre la Drogue et le Crime (ONUDC) pour l’Afrique de l’ouest et du Centre.
Dans son discours, le ministre de l’intérieur, M. Hamadou Adamou Souley a déclaré que la célébration de la 36è journée internationale de lutte contre l’abus et le trafic des drogues donne, une fois de plus, l’occasion d’incinérer les drogues saisies par les services, au cours de l’année, mais aussi de dresser le bilan de la lutte contre ce fléau dont les conséquences n’épargnent aucun pays dans le monde.
Cette année, le thème retenu pour célébrer cette journée internationale est : ‹‹ les gens avant tout, mettons fin à la stigmatisation et à la discrimination, renforçons la prévention ››. Un thème qui constitue une invite à l’action et à la coopération en vue de parvenir à un monde sans toxicomanie.
Le Niger, résolument engagé dans la lutte contre ce fléau, a intégré dans ses stratégies de lutte, trois principaux axes qui sont la prévention, le traitement des personnes dépendantes et la réadaptation sociale.Cela est connu de tous que le trafic et la consommation de la drogue sont sources de criminalité et d’insécurité et entravent en même temps, le développement socioéconomique du pays.
Le Niger qui est confronté à ces risques majeurs, est en effet, devenu un grand espace de transit pour de nombreux trafics de substances illicites. Selon le ministre de l’intérieur, Hamadou Adamou Souley, au titre de l’année 2022, la valeur marchande approximative des drogues saisies en 2021, sur l’ensemble du territoire a été estimée à environ 26.089.037.000 FCFA. Le ministre a saisi l’occasion pour saluer les forces de sécurité, particulièrement l’OCRTIS (Office Central de Répression du Trafic Illicite des Stupéfiants) pour son professionnalisme dans la conduite des opérations.
Les drogues qui ont fait l’objet d’incinération ce matin sur le site de Soray, sont celles qui ont été saisies par les juridictions de Niamey au titre de l’année 2022-2023. Elles sont composées de cannabis (945 briques, 21.651.76 grammes, 6 boules et 02,38 Cracks) ; Tramadol (465.845 comprimés) ; Cocaïne (72 boulettes) ; Cracks (725,82 grammes et 97 doses) ; Exol (19.001 comprimés) ; Diazépam (16.177 comprimés) ; Rivotril (120 comprimés) ; Carbonate de Sodium Sal (10 tonnes et 5 sacs) ; Codéine (8 flacons) ; Rohypnol (825 comprimés) ; Codéine (8 flacons cartons) ; divers (jopan-935) ; Artalge (04 comprimés) ; Trajado (13 comprimés ) et Mycold (02 comprimés).
Auparavant, le président de la Commission de Coordination pour la lutte contre la Drogue, M. Ousmane Baydo a dans son mot introductif, souligné que le combat contre le fléau de la drogue devient pour tous une nécessité absolue, tout en interpellant les responsables politiques, les autorités administratives et coutumières, les acteurs de la société civile, les médias, les leaders religieux et les parents sur le rôle que doit jouer chacun d’eux. ‹‹ C’est à ce prix seulement que nous allons faire du Niger un pays sans toxicomanie ››, a-t-il martelé.
Après les traditionnels discours, le ministre et sa suite ont visité les stands des tests de confirmation de drogue, avant de procéder à l’incinération de la quantité de drogues qui a été saisie par les juridictions de Niamey, au titre de l’année 2022-2023. Source:nigerinter.com
