Le procès historique de l’ex-dictateur guinéen Moussa Dadis Camara, jugé pour un massacre commis le 28 septembre 2009, a repris lundi après avoir été suspendu plus d’un mois à cause de deux grèves successives, a annoncé l’AFP.
Ce procès était suspendu depuis le 29 mai, les avocats refusant de plaider parce qu’ils disaient n’avoir toujours pas été payés. Il devait reprendre le 21 juin après un accord trouvé entre les deux parties, mais avait été ajourné de nouveau après une grève des gardiens de prison.
La cour a entendu lundi un accusé, le capitaine Marcel Guilavogui, ancien membre de la garde présidentielle et neveu de Moussa Dadis Camara. Il a affirmé à la barre que ce dernier était « le concepteur, l’ordonnateur et l’exécutant » du massacre.
« J’ai décidé de dire la vérité. Je pensais que le président (Moussa) Dadis (Camara) allait avoir le courage d’assumer la responsabilité de ce qu’il avait planifié », a dit le capitaine Guilavogui, qui avait en novembre 2022 fait un témoignage contraire et disculpé l’ex-dictateur.
Ce changement de version a entraîné le retrait de sa défense d’un de ses conseils, David Béavogui. L’avocat a lu devant la cour un texte dans lequel il dit ne pouvoir « défendre une chose et son contraire » et n’avoir plus « la force physique et morale » de se tenir aux côtés de son client dans ce procès.
Moussa Dadis Camara et une dizaine d’anciens responsables militaires et gouvernementaux répondent depuis le 28 septembre 2022 devant les juges de dizaines d’assassinats et d’une litanie de crimes de violences sexuelles, actes de torture, enlèvements et séquestrations, commis dans un stade de la banlieue de Conakry et alentour le 28 septembre 2009 et les jours suivants.
Au moins 156 personnes ont été tuées et des centaines d’autres blessées et au moins 109 femmes ont été violées ces jours-là, selon le rapport d’une commission d’enquête internationale mandatée par l’ONU. Les chiffres réels sont probablement plus élevés.
