Dans un communiqué rendu public ce lundi 1er juillet 2024, les autorités nigériennes de transition ont annoncé que suite à la médiation entamée par les anciens Présidents de la République du Bénin, Nicéphore Soglo et Dr. Thomas Yayi Boni, il a été convenu de la mise en place d’une Commission tripartite pour aplanir les divergences et proposer des pistes pour une sortie de crise entre Niamey et Cotonou.
Selon le communiqué, la Commission tripartite, qui sera composée des représentants des gouvernements des deux pays ainsi que des médiateurs, va permettre d’engager « un dialogue constructif » qui mettra en avant « les intérêts supérieurs des deux pays au-delà de toutes autres considérations » et cela, malgré les « preuves documentées » des griefs que les autorités nigériennes reprochent au régime du Président Talon.
Pour rappel, les deux anciens chefs d’État béninois ont effectué, le lundi 24 juin dernier, une visite de travail à Niamey au cours de laquelle ils ont échangé avec les autorités de transition, dont le Président Tiani, sur la crise qui couve entre le Bénin et le Niger depuis presque un an et l’avènement des militaires du CNSP au pouvoir. Ce lundi 1er juillet, les deux personnalités ont rencontré le chef de l’État Patrice Talon avec qui ils ont échangé sur le même sujet.
