Afin de renforcer l’arsenal qui protège les consommateurs nigériens contre des abus divers et autres malversations, les députés nationaux en séance plénière le lundi 21 octobre dernier, ont adopté la loi portant sur les infractions et sanctions en matière de protection des consommateurs. Cette adoption s’est faite sous la présidence de l’honorable Ousseini Tinni.
De nos jours, on assiste à des litiges commerciaux qui, sans l’intervention des autorités pourraient engendrer aux deux parties des conséquences lourdes. Au quotidien, le tribunal de commerce de Niamey enregistre un nombre important de cas de cette mésentente au niveau des consommateurs aussi bien de service que de bien. Face à ces formes de vente mais aussi des comportements déloyaux des commerçants, les autorités nigériennes ont jugé utile le vote de cette loi déterminant les infractions et sanctions en matière protection des consommateurs contre ces litiges commerciaux.
Pour le Ministre du Commerce, Sadou Seydou, cette loi interpelle toute la population nigérienne en particulier les consommateurs aussi bien de services que de biens « son vote va permettre au gouvernement de compléter les textes juridiques mis en place en la matière mais aussi d’harmoniser notre législation aux instruments de l’Union Economique Ouest Africaine(UEMOA) » a-t-il souligné.
A la fin de la séance, le Ministre du commerce M.Sadou Seydou, a rassuré les parlementaires qu’une large diffusion de cette loi sera faite « nous allons procéder à une large diffusion de cette loi sur toute l’étendue du territoire national afin de sensibiliser la population nigérienne sur les méfaits liés à ces litiges et l’amener à agir en toute conséquences » a-t-il déclaré.
