Le célèbre chanteur américain du RnB, Alioune Badara Thiam alias AKON, n’a pas oublié ses origines. Après son vaste projet ‘’Akon Lighting Africa’’ lancé en 2014, couvrant une partie importante de l’Afrique, celui-ci revient une fois de plus vers son pays d’origine, le Sénégal, en décidant d’investir dans le secteur touristique sénégalais. Cet ambitieux programme, n’est autre que la construction d’une « cité futuriste’’ dans une zone touristique du Sénégal.
Une façon pour lui de contribuer significativement à l’émergence économique du pays de ses ancêtres. Ce joyau qui sera réceptionné dans un délai d’une année en plus d’autres projets d’une « plus grande envergure », dont une « ville durable, a d’ores et déjà été approuvé par les autorités sénégalaises qui ont signé, le mardi 7 Janvier un accord de bail avec le chanteur sénégalo-américain « Akon ». Ce qui va sans doute attirer les investisseurs internationaux.
Ce projet portant sur trois points a aussitôt suscité la réaction des autorités sénégalaises, en l’occurrence le ministre du tourisme et du transport Aérien M..Alioune Sarr, qui à la suite de la rencontre explique l’importance que revêt la concrétisation du projet qui s’étalera sur 3 points essentiels : En premier lieu, l’aménagement de sites touristiques :
– La construction de la Ville Verte – Dakar Sustainable City qui dote le Sénégal d’une éco-ville, une conception urbaine alliant efficience de la consommation d’énergie et gestion durable des ressources naturelles et durables,
– La construction de l’Africa Village Resort, un concept de village touristique, qui comprendra 55 villas et qui sera livré en 2021,
– La signature des baux entre AKON Corporation et la SAPCO.
En deuxième lieu, le développement du Tourisme :
– Formulation et mise en œuvre d’un programme d’actions visant la demande touristique du marché américain. Ce programme qui sera exécuté en 2021, coïncidera avec l’ouverture de l’Africa Village Resort et l’ouverture de la ligne Dakar-New York-Washington.
Et enfin la promotion d’Air Sénégal SA :
– Dans le cadre de son programme de développement, Air Sénégal SA prévoit l’ouverture de la route Dakar – New York – Washington en novembre 2020. AKON a accepté d’être l’Ambassadeur de Air Sénégal pour la promotion de la compagnie sur le marché Nord -américain. »
