Les députés ont voté hier un projet de loi visant améliorer l’accès à l’électricité signé entre le Niger et la Banque européenne en 2019 d’un montant de 40 milliards 12 millions de Fcfa.
L’objectif de ce financement est d’améliorer l’accès à l’électricité au Niger.
Concrètement, ce financement de la Banque européenne permettra au Niger de financer le projet « Nigelec expansion » à travers le renforcement et la réhabilitation des réseaux de transport et de distribution Moyenne Tension (MT) et Basse Tension (BT) de Niamey.
Il permettra aussi de réhabiliter ces réseaux dans les sept chefs-lieux de régions et dans 95 localités rurales.
Le taux d’accès à l’électricité au Niger tourne autour de 30 à 35% de la population totale alors que le pays veut mobiliser 1000 milliards de Fcfa pour atteindre les 80% d’ici 2035.
