Le Président de la République, Chef d’Etat, Chef suprême des armées, M. Issoufou Mahamadou a présidé, ce jeudi 04 février 2021 à Niamey, la cérémonie d’inauguration de l’école militaire supérieure, une école ayant pour vocation la formation des officiers supérieurs appelés à exercer des responsabilités importantes et techniques de commandement.
La création de cet établissement de formation vise aussi à garantir un encadrement destiné à préparer les officiers supérieurs à commander des grandes unités et à exercer des responsabilités dans les états-majors d’armées, interarmées et interalliées, entre autres.
Peu après la coupure de ruban, marquant l’inauguration officielle des locaux de cette école, le Président de la République s’est réjoui de la création de ce joyau qui vient, selon lui, combler un vide.
‘’La formation est un secteur essentiel pour préparer les forces armées à leur mission. Nous avons au Niger tous les maillons de formation militaire, depuis le centre de formation des militaires de rang jusqu’au niveau de la formation d’officiers en passant par la formation de sous-officiers, mais il nous manquait un maillon de la chaine, c’est cette école’’ a déclaré le Chef suprême des armées du Niger, le Président de la République Issoufou Mahamadou.
‘’Je me réjouis vraiment de cette cérémonie. Cette école vient combler un vide et désormais, notre pays dispose de tous les maillons de la chaine de formation de nos éléments des forces de défense’’ a ajouté le dirigeant nigérien.
Selon Issoufou Mahamdou, cette école devait permettre de former les officiers d’état-major et les officiers brevetés de guerre, ce qui constitue un acquis important dans sa réponse aux défis de sécurité auquel fait face son pays.
Le Ministre de la défense nationale, le Pr. Issoufou Katanbé a, quant à lui, soutenu à cette occasion que ‘’la création de cette école, inscrite dans le plan quinquennal, 2021-2025 de dédoublement des effectifs des forces armées, marque le début d’une nouvelle ère dans le domaine de l’enseignement supérieur militaire’’.
Poursuivant son speech, le locataire du Ministère de la défense nationale a indiqué que l’avènement de cette école permettra au Niger d’assurer, lui-même, la formation supérieure de ses officiers, alors qu’auparavant cette formation était dispensée aux militaires nigériens par les partenaires et les pays amis.
Abondant dans le même sens, le directeur de commandement des formations des forces armées nigériennes, M. Bello Garba Aboul Hassan a indiqué que l’inauguration de cette école s’inscrit ‘’dans un long processus visant à doter les Forces Armées Nigériennes de structures de formation adéquates, piliers essentiels de la modernisation de notre outil de défense et de sécurité’’.
En effet, note-t-on, dans le cadre de la mise en place de ces outils de l’enseignement militaires, en plus des centres de formation des militaires de rang et des techniciens, les forces armées nigériennes ont créé l’Ecole de formation des Officiers (EFOFAN) en 1998, à Niamey, suivie de l’Ecole Nationale des Sous-Officiers d’Active d’Agadez en 2003.
