La 23ème Assemblée Générale de l’Organisation des Premières Dames d’Afrique pour le Développement (OPDAD) placée sous le parrainage de la Première Dame Hadjia Aissata Issoufou Mahamadou s’est ouverte lundi, 8 juillet 2019, à Niamey en présence notamment du Président de la République, Chef de l’Etat, SEM Issoufou Mahamadou.
Dans une intervention à l’ouverture de cette rencontre, le Président Issoufou Mahamadou a apporté son soutien aux Premières Dames pour « l’excellent travail que vous menez chacune aux côtés de son époux dans l’intérêt de nos peuples et notre continent.»
« Votre rôle est plus que jamais nécessaire surtout en ce moment où l’Afrique est en train de faire de bons pas en avant, de renaître », a dit le Chef de l’Etat, demandant aux Premières Dames de se mobiliser pour la mise en œuvre de la ZLECAf et de l’Agenda 2063.
«Nous (Chefs d’Etat africains) avons besoin de votre soutien, l’Afrique a besoin de votre soutien et de ce que vous faites », a affirmé le Président de la République.
« Préparons ensemble, avec vous, l’Afrique que nous voulons, une Afrique prospère, intégrée, unie, une Afrique qui a une place honorable dans le concert des Nations », a-t-il conclu.
Cette session s’est tenue en marge du Sommet Extraordinaire de l’Union Africaine tenu à Niamey.
L’OPDAD a pour mission de contribuer à la santé et au bien-être des enfants, des jeunes et des femmes par des plaidoyers en faveur de mobilisation des ressources et des partenaires stratégiques.
