Un important lot de matériels roulants a été́ réceptionné́ ce mardi 4 mars 2025 à Niamey dans le cadre du projet Lafiya Yali, mis en œuvre avec l’appui de l’UNOPS (Office des Nations Unies pour les services d’appui aux projets). Cette initiative vise à améliorer l’accès des femmes et des filles au service de santé et des nutritions renforcées dans les zones prioritaires du pays mais aussi renforcer les capacités logistiques du ministère de la santé publique.
La cérémonie officielle de remise des équipements s’est tenue en présence des autorités nationales, des représentants de l’UNOPS, des partenaires techniques et financiers, ainsi que des bénéficiaires du projet. Ce lot comprend seize (16) véhicules Toyota Land Cruiser Hard Top, d’une valeur estimée à 549866214 FCFA.
Ce renforcement des moyens logistiques s’inscrit dans la stratégie globale du projet Lafiya Yali, qui vise à améliorer les infrastructures et les capacités opérationnelles du secteur sanitaire. Grâce à ces nouveaux équipements, les services de santé pourront assurer une meilleure prise en charge des urgences médicales, faciliter les évacuations sanitaires et intensifier les actions de sensibilisation et de prévention.
Selon Hubert Domai Mandjodi, représentant de l’UNOPS Niger, ces équipements financés par la Banque mondiale « contribueront à l’amélioration du système de santé nigérien en facilitant la supervision des activités visant l’élargissement de l’accès et l’utilisation de l’ensemble des services de santé reproductive, maternelle, néonatale, infantile, adolescente et de la nutrition. »
De son côté́, le médecin-colonel Garba Hakimi, ministre de la Santé Publique, de la Population et des Affaires Sociales, a souligné́ que « ces moyens roulants permettront d’assurer la mobilité́ des équipes médicales, d’optimiser la logistique pour la distribution des équipements et médicaments, et de garantir une réactivité́ accrue face aux urgences sanitaires. »
Le projet Lafiya Yali, mis en œuvre avec le soutien de l’UNOPS et de divers partenaires, s’inscrit dans une dynamique plus large visant à atteindre plusieurs objectifs. Il prévoit notamment la construction de cinq (5) districts sanitaires et de plus de trente (30) centres de santé, tandis que la réhabilitation de plusieurs structures sanitaires est déjà en cours.
