Le Premier Ministre du Niger, M. Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine a reçu, ce jeudi 14 décembre 2023, le ministre des Affaires Etrangères de la République du Togo, M. Robert Dussey qui a annoncé qu’un chronogramme de la transition nigérienne est en gestation.
Le diplomate togolais a été reçu par le Premier Ministre de la transition en tant que représentant du président Faure Gnassingbé du Togo choisi, avec le président de la Sierra Leone, par le sommet des Chefs d’Etat de la CEDEAO, comme médiateurs pour aider à une sortie de crise au Niger.
« Nous sommes venus à Niamey pour rencontrer le premier ministre nigérien. Nous devons venir normalement avec mon homologue de la Sierra Leone, mais malheureusement à la dernière minute une contrainte l’a empêché de faire le déplacement à Niamey », a indiqué à la presse le diplomate togolais qui a souligné avoir eu ‘’une séance de travail très enrichissante avec le premier ministre et mon homologue des affaires étrangères du Niger. Nous avons travaillé et convenu du contenu du timing de la transition’’, a-t-il annoncé.
Pour le Ministre togolais des affaires étrangères, « ceci est une avancée, et nous nous sommes dits que nous reviendrons ici avec notre homologue de la Sierra Leone probablement en début janvier pour discuter de la finalisation de ce contenu, précisément du chronogramme de la transition qui est attendu ».
« Dès que ce travail sera fait, nous allons, d’ors et déjà, présenter ça aux chefs d’Etats médiateurs et à la commission de la CEDEAO de ce contenu que nous avons convenu ensemble », a-t-il dit tout en espérant qu’en janvier ‘’le chronogramme attendu par la CEDEAO sera connu suite au travail qu’ils auront eu avec la partie nigérienne’’.
