Le Président de la République, Mohamed Bazoum est attendu, ce mercredi 28 décembre 2022, dans la région de Zinder où il se rendra dans les départements de Mirriah, Matamèye, Magaria et Tanout pour une visite de travail de 72 heures. Mohamed Bazoum, procèdera dans la capitale du Damagram, à l’inauguration de la nouvelle centrale électrique de 22 Mégawatts pour des besoins estimés à plus de 16 Mégawatts.
Avec un coût total de 66,252 milliards de FCFA, (pour toutes les centrales) les travaux de construction de cette infrastructure de 14,4 milliards de francs, ont été lancés le 3 août 2021 par le Chef de l’Etat, en marge de la fête de l’Arbre.
Cette nouvelle centrale, note-t-on, a été réalisée dans le cadre d’un partenariat public-privé (PPP) avec comme maître d’œuvre, la société mauritanienne ISTITHMAR West Africa, afin de résorber le déficit d’offres énergétiques, et d’assurer totalement l’autonomie énergétique de la région.
L’excédent permettra aussi de couvrir même les besoins du Centre-Est des régions de Tahoua et Maradi, relancera la croissance économique et débridera les initiatives entrepreneuriales de ces régions qui seront autosuffisantes à terme.
Les moyens conséquents consacrés durant les Programmes Renaissance acte I, II et III en amorce ont permis de relever le niveau d’accès à l’électricité de 8% en 2011 à 20% en 2022 dans la région.
