L’état-major des armées françaises annonce ce mercredi qu’un soldat nigérien a été tué et un autre blessé ainsi que deux soldats français, lors de combats avec des jihadistes au Mali.
Cité par l’Agence France presse, le porte-parole de l’état-major des armées françaises, le général Frédéric Barbry a indiqué que des soldats de la force antijihadiste Barkhane et de la 114e compagnie de sécurité intérieure nigérienne ont été pris à partie par des jihadistes au cours d’une mission de reconnaissance.
Le général Barbry relève qu’au cours de ces combats, un soldat nigérien a perdu la vie et un second a été blessé. Deux militaires français ont également été blessés, renchérit-il. Des blessés qui sont évacués et pris en charge à l’hôpital militaire de Gao. Le porte-parole de l’état-major des armées françaises précise que leur pronostic vital n’est pas engagé.
Le général Frédéric Barbry ajoute que les soldats au sol, appuyés par des hélicoptères d’attaque et des avions de chasse, ont “neutralisé” les jihadistes dont le nombre n’a pas été communiqué.
