A la date du 02 novembre 2020, au moins 32 candidats se sont lancés dans la course à l’élection présidentielle au Niger dont le 1er tour est prévu le 27 décembre 2020. La validation des dossiers par la cour constitutionnelle interviendra en début décembre. Lesdites candidatures seront reçues au plus tard le 6 novembre 2020, selon le calendrier de la Commission Électorale Nationale Indépendante (CENI).
Plus la date du 27 décembre 2020 approche, plus les choses se précisent dans les quartiers généraux des formations politiques qui animent la vie politique au Niger. Sur la pléthore de partis officiellement constitués, plus d’une centaine, 32 ont déjà affichés leur intention de briguer la magistrature suprême. Entre les vieux briscards de la sphère politique nationale qui ne veulent pas lâcher du lest et les jeunes loups qui estiment que leur moment est arrivé de présider aux destinées du pays ou encore les imams qui sortent de leurs mosquées et embrassent la joute électorale, la liste des prétendants s’allonge et devraient encore l’être dans les jours à venir.
