Le vendredi 17 Juillet 2020, le Président de la République, SE. Issoufou Mahamadou a reçu en audience une délégation nigériane conduite par le Directeur Général de la Nigerian National Petroleum Coorporation (NNPC), M Mele. Kiyari.
« Cette rencontre s’inscrit dans le cadre de la reprise de l’exportation des produits pétroliers du Niger vers le Nigéria, qui revêt un intérêt certain pour le Niger », a indiqué le ministre du Pétrole du Niger M. Foumakoye Gado en sa sortie d’audience avec le Directeur Général de la NNPC qui dit être venu au Niger pour discuter des voies et moyens à suivre pour renforcer la coopération en matière d’hydrocarbures entre la NNPC et la SONIDEP « et plus essentiellement pour permettre l’exportation du pétrole nigérien vers le Nigeria dans des conditions plus souples, plus rapides » a ajouté M. Kiyari.
A l’issue de la rencontre les deux parties ont manifesté leur volonté de faire en sorte que la coopération entre les deux sociétés soit bien planifiée afin que les activités et les échanges se fassent bien et se diversifient. « Pour sa part, la NNPC fera tout son possible pour faire pérenniser cette coopération au bénéfice des peuples frères nigérian et nigérien » a conclu M. Kiyari qui avance avoir reçu le soutien ferme du Président Issoufou Mahamadou pour une mise en œuvre efficiente et rapide de ce cadre de coopération avantageux pour les deux pays.
