Les inondations provoquées par les dernières pluies enregistrées au Niger ont tué 20 personnes et blessé 27 autres, selon un bilan mis à jour de la direction générale de la protection civile (DGPC), publié ce mercredi 27 juillet 2022.
Ce bilan fait également cas de 48 438 personnes sinistrées répertoriées dans 5 778 ménages. Il ressort également de ce rapport que les intempéries ont tué 608 têtes d’animaux.
Le Niger, pays sahélien, est habitué aux inondations. Selon OCHA, en 2021 les inondations ont affecté plus de 250 000 personnes dans 47 départements avec perte de biens, de récoltes et de bétail et causé 77 décès.
En 2020 à la même période, 432 613 personnes (52 404 ménages) étaient affectées par les intempéries, avec 58 décès enregistrés.
