A l’initiative du Bureau Niger de Save the Children, une session d’échanges avec des professionnels des médias s’est tenue les jeudi 9 et vendredi 10 juin à son siège basé à Niamey. Pendant deux jours, une dizaine de journalistes des radios, télévision et presse en ligne principalement, ont échangé avec l’équipe communication de Save The Children Niger, notamment le Responsable de Communication Plaidoyer M. Bakary Mamadou Traoré, M. Ali Adamou , Manager Media et Communication et Mme Florence Cissé, Regional Media Manager du Bureau SCI Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre.
Dans un premier temps, les participants ont eu à mieux connaître l’ONG créée en 1919 en Angleterre et installée au Niger en 2005 à la faveur de la crise alimentaire qu’a connu le pays. Save the Children, outre son centre de coordination à Niamey a quatre bureaux à Diffa, Maradi, Zinder, et Tillabéri. Ses actions dans les domaines de l’éducation, de la santé, de la nutrition, de la sécurité alimentaire ou encore de la protection, ont, à ce jour, atteint 674000 enfants au Niger.
C’est justement pour outiller les médias sur la meilleure approche pour collecter et traiter les thématiques liées à l’enfance que ledit atelier a été organisé.
