L’ex-ministre de la Défense Bah N’Daw a été désigné officiellement président de transition du Mali ce lundi à Bamako.
Le Mali connaît enfin l’identité de son président et de son Premier ministre de transition. L’ex-ministre de la Défense, Bah N’Daw, a été désigné ce lundi à Bamako président de transition du Mali par un comité mis en place par la junte au pouvoir depuis le putsch du 18 août, a annoncé le chef de cette junte, le colonel Assimi Goïta, à la télévision nationale.
C’est donc un colonel major à la retraite qui dirigera cette transition au Mali. Le colonel et chef de la junte, Assimi Goïta, devient lui vice-président.
Le colonel major Bah N’Daw est né en 1950. Il a derrière lui une longue carrière au sein de l’armée de l’air. Et après avoir pris sa retraite, il avait exercé à partir de mai 2014 le poste de ministre de la Défense en remplacement de Soumeylou Boubèye Maïga.
Il a également déjà été autrefois aide de camp de Moussa Traoré, un poste duquel il avait démissionné. C’est un homme considéré comme relativement proche du M5, le mouvement qui avait lancé la contestation contre l’ancien président IBK, et réputé pour sa rigueur.
On sait que la Cédéao a exercé une forte pression sur la junte pour qu’elle nomme un civil au poste de présidentet cette hypothèse d’un ancien militaire aujourd’hui est considéré comme acceptable, en tout cas pour la Cédéao qui ne devrait pas tarder à réagir. Elle avait donné jusqu’à demain à la junte pour choisir ces personnalités.
En effet, le collège institué par la junte militaire et qui a désigné l’ex-ministre de la Défense Bah N’Daw s’est réuni au moment où la junte est sous la pression de la Communauté des États de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (Cédéao) pour désigner rapidement le président et le Premier ministre qui conduiront les affaires pendant la période de transition de plusieurs mois supposée ramener les civils à la tête du pays.
Le nouveau président est censé officier comme chef de l’État pendant plusieurs mois avant un retour des civils au pouvoir.
