Le président de la transition au Mali, a reçu mardi le projet de la nouvelle constitution du pays. C’est finalement 4 mois après sa mise en place, au lieu de deux, que la commission chargée de l’élaboration de document s’est acquittée de sa tâche.
Le texte sera soumis au Conseil des ministres avant son passage au parlement de transition.
« L’adoption d’une nouvelle Constitution sera une étape cruciale dans le processus de reconstruction de l’État. La Commission de rédaction de la nouvelle Constitution formule le vœu ardent que le projet soit partagé et accepté. », a déclaré Fousseyni Samaké, président de la Commission de rédaction de la Constitution.
Le grand oral du document sera sans nul doute, le référendum constitutionnel prévu en principe en mars 2023. Pour le président de la transition militaire, l’adoption de ce texte marquera un nouveau départ pour le Mali.
« La remise du projet de la nouvelle Constitution n’est qu’une étape du processus, car bientôt seul le peuple souverain sera appelé à un référendum pour se prononcer sur le document. En adoptant la nouvelle Constitution, c’est l’acte juridique fondateur de Malikura que le peuple aura souverainement posé. », a déclaré le colonel Assimi Goïta, président de la transition au Mali.
Outre le scrutin constitutionnel, les élections législatives et présidentielles sont aussi attendues pour un retour à l’ordre civil dans le pays. Mais il faudra attendre, théoriquement, jusqu’en 2024.
Le colonel Assimi Goïta, qui a renversé le pouvoir civil en août 2020 et s’est fait investir président depuis, a déclaré que l' »espoir commun d’une démocratie rénovée, ainsi que d’un État mieux organisé et à la hauteur des défis nationaux et internationaux, repose sur cet avant-projet », selon ses services.
