Deux civils ont été tués mardi au Niger lors d’une attaque contre le village de Fantio, dans la région Ouest de Tillabéri, tandis que l’armée repoussait le même jour une attaque du groupe jihadiste Boko Haram, tuant trois assaillants à Bosso, dans le Sud-Est.
Deux civils ont été froidement assassinés mardi soir lors d’une attaque terroriste dans le village de Fantio, a déclaré une source sécuritaire basée dans la zone dite des trois frontières entre le Niger, Burkina Faso et Mali. Il s’agit d’un directeur d’école et d’un inspecteur de l’Enseignement à la retraite. Du bétail a été emporté par les assaillants venus à motos, a précisé cette source, en expliquant que les victimes ont été « surprises dans leur sommeil ».

Cette attaque survient deux jours après le retour de près de 6 000 personnes dans la localité de Baroua, située près de Bosso, qui avaient fui en 2015 des attaques djihadistes. Boko Haram avait mené sa toute première attaque au Niger, le 6 février 2015, contre Bosso.
Le 3 juin 2016, une attaque massive de Boko Haram à Bosso avait fait 26 morts, 24 soldats nigériens et deux militaires nigérians de la FMM, ainsi que 55 tués du côté de Boko Haram, selon les autorités nigériennes.
Les assaillants avaient pris le contrôle de la ville, avant d’en être délogés le lendemain.
D’après une estimation établie par l’ONU quelques jours après cette attaque du 3 juin 2016, au moins 50 000 personnes avaient fui la zone. Une partie des habitants de Bosso avait ensuite regagné la ville, selon les autorités locales.
Outre les attaques de Boko Haram et de l’Etat islamique en Afrique de l’Ouest (Iswap) dans sa partie sud-est, le Niger doit également faire face à celles de groupes jihadistes sahéliens, dont l’Etat islamique au Grand Sahara (EIGS), dans sa partie ouest.
