Les directeurs généraux des douanes des pays membres de l’Alliance des États du Sahel (AES) ont pris hier mardi à Niamey, au Niger, une décision portant sur le libre choix de signer un protocole d’accord et une instruction-cadre pour l’interconnexion des systèmes douaniers des pays de l’AES avec le Togo.
Les directeurs généraux des douanes du Burkina Faso, du Mali et du Niger se sont retrouvés dans la capitale nigérienne pour adopter des décisions en matière de sécurisation du transit à travers une interconnexion entre les différents États de l’AES et le Togo, a appris l’AIB.
Les patrons des Douanes ont instruit leurs équipes techniques à tout mettre en œuvre pour faire de l’AES un espace douanier interconnecté.
Au cours de la même rencontre où le Tchad et le Togo sont invités d’honneur, des dispositions réglementaires seront prises avec d’autres pays comme la Côte d’Ivoire.
Des experts échangeront sur les implications douanières de la sortie de leurs pays respectifs de la CEDEAO avant que les directeurs généraux des douanes des pays de l’AES envisagent les perspectives et les mesures alternatives pour faire face à cette situation.
La réunion a porté sur le thème « Renforcement de l’interconnexion informatique et promotion socioéconomique à travers la libre circulation des personnes et des biens et services ».
