Le président nigérien Mohamed Bazoum a salué, dimanche, la réélection de son homologue Recep Tayyip Erdogan à la tête de la Türkiye.
« Je félicite chaleureusement le président Recep Tayyip Erdogan pour sa brillante élection à la tête de son pays », a indiqué le dirigeant nigérien dans un message posté sur son compte Twitter.
« Son maintien à la tête de l’État contribuera à renforcer davantage les relations si fructueuses entre nos deux pays », a estimé Mohamed Bazoum, saluant au passage le peuple turc « pour cette belle leçon de démocratie ».
Le Niger et la Türkiye entretiennent des liens de coopération depuis plusieurs années. Plusieurs domaines sont concernés par cette coopération dont, entre autres, la santé, la sécurité, la formation et les infrastructures. En 2020, les deux pays ont signé plusieurs accords de coopération, dont trois sur la sécurité, à l’occasion de la visite au Niger du ministre turc des Affaires étrangères, Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Erdogan a été réélu dimanche président de la Türkiye à l’issue du second tour de l’élection présidentielle, a annoncé le chef de la Commission électorale suprême du pays (YSK), Ahmet Yener.
Le président de la YSK, a déclaré aux journalistes dans la capitale Ankara qu’Erdogan avait remporté la course à la magistrature suprême face à l’opposant Kemal Kilicdaroglu, lors du second tour de scrutin.
Selon les résultats non officiels, le président sortant vire en tête avec 52,14 % des voix, tandis que Kilicdaroglu a obtenu 47,86 % des suffrages, a déclaré Ahmet Yener, ajoutant que 99,43 % des bulletins de vote ont jusqu’à présent été dépouillés.
