Dans une communication lue, ce jeudi 14 avril 2022 en conseil des ministres, M. Rabiou Ousmane, Ministre de l’Education Nationale a annoncé la fin prochaine des classes en paillote au Niger.
Le Ministre de l’éducation nationale a rappelé dans sa communication que ‘’le Niger dispose de 75 037 salles de classe dont 36 000 construites en matériaux précaires’’.
‘’Le Gouvernement s’est engagé à remplacer les salles de classe en paillote par des salles de classe en matériaux définitifs. Cependant, les coûts élevés des matériaux à utiliser, ont imposé la recherche de modèles alternatifs de salles de classe moins coûteux’’ a précisé le responsable gouvernemental.
C’est ainsi que, a poursuivi Rabiou Ousmane, ‘’à l’issue d’une procédure de sélection, le classement des modèles validés basé sur une grille de notation composée de cinq (05) critères à savoir le modèle, les matériaux de mise en œuvre, le coût du projet, la longévité et la facilité de la mise en œuvre, a permis de retenir neuf (09) projets’’.
Rappelons qu’un incendie dans une école à classes en paillote de Niamey a fait une vingtaine d’élèves morts calcinés au cours de l’année scolaire 2020-2021.
