Le ministre nigérien de la Santé publique, Dr Illiassou Mainassara a décidé de l’auto-isolement de 14 jours de toute personne en provenance des pays touchés par le coronavirus rapporte l’Agence Nigérienne de Presse (ANP).
Cette mesure prise par le ministre de la santé publique vient en appui à celles déjà en exécution au niveau des trois aéroports internationaux et des huit points d’entrée terrestres pour empêcher l’épidémie du coronavirus de franchir la frontière nigérienne. Il a pour cela adressé une correspondance à son homologue des affaires étrangères afin qu’il partage cette information de l’auto-isolement de 14 jours avec les ambassades et les représentations diplomatiques et consulaires accréditées au Niger de cette nouvelle mesure à appliquer. Le gouvernement a également pris comme mesure le report de toutes les rencontres internationales qui auront lieu à Niamey.
Pour rappel, le 04 mars dernier, un cas suspect a été détecté dans la capitale nigérienne. Un patient de nationalité italienne était en observation à l’hôpital de référence de Niamey. Ce dernier aurait été pris en charge à sa décente d’avion alors qu’il présentait des signes de la maladie. Le pays d’où il provenait à savoir Italie a enregistré 168 nouveaux décès le mardi dernier. Le pays d’Europe le plus touché d’Europe a dépassé le cap des 1000 morts ce jeudi. .
