Le président de la CENI, Me Issaka Sounna a reçu ce 02 septembre des mains du directeur de la Direction de l’Informatique chargée de l’élaboration du Fichier Electoral Biométrique (DIFEB), Oumarou Saidi, le premier fichier électoral biométrique. Cette cérémonie est une obligation légale prévue par l’article 46 du code électoral.
Me Issaka Sounna a marqué sa satisfaction lors de l’événement et a rappelé que le fichier fera l’objet d’un audit. « Les différents partenaires politiques et civils l’ont voulu, la CENI est d’accord et nous avons sollicité l’assistance des partenaires très importants que sont l’Union Africaine et l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), qui vont accompagner la CENI de façon fraternelle dans la réalisation de l’audit dudit fichier », a-t-il déclaré.
Le directeur de la DIFEB est revenu dans son allocution sur les difficultés sécuritaires et sanitaires rencontrées par ses agents sur le terrain dans la réalisation de ce premier fichier électoral biométrique du Niger. Il a également parlé des différentes étapes qui ont permis d’obtenir les résultats espérés.
Au total 7 446 556 électeurs, dont 4 093 291 de femmes et 3 353 265 d’hommes, ont été enrôlés.
Le 13 décembre prochain, les Nigériens seront appelés aux urnes pour choisir leurs conseillers municipaux. Deux semaines plus tard, le 27 décembre, ils retourneront aux urnes pour élire leurs députés et décider de qui sera le prochain président de la République
