Il a clairement indiqué que le recours à la prise de pouvoir par les militaires ne sera pas toléré, car c’est inacceptable. Nous sommes fermement attachés à la défense de la démocratie et nous continuerons à le faire. Nous agirons conformément aux directives du président, et nous sommes prêts à intervenir dès que l’ordre nous parviendra. Nous sommes convaincus de notre succès et nous ne leur laisserons aucune chance de réussir leur entreprise. »
Le général Musa a souligné que des discussions sont en cours entre le président nigérian et ses homologues des pays voisins pour prendre des mesures de rétorsion. Il exprime sa confiance quant à l’échec des auteurs du coup d’État, car il estime qu’ils étaient conscients que leurs actions ne seraient pas acceptées. Il affirme avec assurance que la victoire sera remportée sur ces putschistes.
