Portée par le Comité International pour l’Aide d’Urgence et le Développement (CIAUD) et son partenaire, le Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les Réfugiés (UNHCR), l’initiative Académique Albert Einstein pour les Réfugiés (DAFI), était au cœur d’une rencontre le vendredi 19 novembre 2021 à Niamey. Sous la houlette du Ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la recherche et de l’innovation, en présence du Représentant du UNHCR, Emmanuel Gignac, il s’est tenu, un cocktail de plaidoyer et d’échanges pour le financement du cycle de Master des étudiants réfugiés diplômés et leur insertion socio-professionnelle.
Dans la salle de banquet du Centre de Conférence Mahatma Gandhi, ils étaient nombreux, les responsables d’université, d’écoles et d’instituts d’enseignement supérieur, dirigeants d’entreprise privées, de banques, de sociétés d’assurances et d’organisations non gouvernementales locales et internationales, à avoir répondu présents à l’appel du Comité International pour l’Aide d’Urgence et le Développement (CIAUD) et du Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les Réfugiés. Un appel au bénéfice des réfugiés vivant sur le territoire nigérien et voulant poursuivre leur études supérieures et universitaires.
C’est le ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l’Innovation, le « Ph.D Mamoudou Djibo, parrain de cette assise, qui s’est fait le porte-voix des jeunes étudiants réfugiés. Une situation contre laquelle, le membre du gouvernement nigérien a appellé à une forte solidarité et à la mobilisation de financement et de ressources en renforcement d’initiatives telles que le DAFI, qui depuis 1992, permet à des réfugiés méritants du monde entier de suivre un enseignement universitaire/supérieur.

Mahama Yattara, représentant-pays du CIAUD qui précise l’objectif dudit cocktail de plaidoyer qui est de « mobiliser les partenaires pour le financement des études supérieures des réfugiés au Niger, de trouver des moyens de financement des études au-delà de la Licence et de plaider la cause d’une meilleure employabilité de ces jeunes réfugiés ». Concrètement le CIAUD, le UNHCR et leurs autres partenaires souhaitent : l’octroi de bourses, la réduction de frais de scolarité et la facilitation de l’insertion de ces jeunes réfugiés diplômés dans le secteur formel à travers l’attribution de stages d’insertion et de contrat de travail temporaire et permanent.
Cet appel n’est pas tombé dans des oreilles de sourds et nombreux sont les partenaires qui ont manifesté leur volonté de soutenir les jeunes réfugié dans leur quête de plus de connaissances et d’emplois. Le CIAUD et le UNHCR sont convaincus que ces jeunes, si on leur en donne la chance, apporteront valablement leur contribution au développement de leur pays d’accueil, le Niger voire au-delà.
