Une cérémonie officielle présidée par le Chef de l’Etat Mohamed Bazoum a marqué ce vendredi 15 octobre 2021, la rentrée solennelle pour la première promotion du Cours d’Etat-Major de l’Ecole Militaire Supérieure du Niger (EMS). Cette rentrée solennelle était couplée à la Déclaration de Politique Nationale de Défense.
Pour faire face aux défis sécuritaires auxquels le pays fait face, une nouvelle Ecole militaire Supérieure est sortie de terre au Niger. Pour la rentrée solennelle de sa toute première promotion pour le compte de l’année académique 2021-2022, c’est le Chef d’Etat, Chef Suprême des Armées, Mohamed Bazoum qui a mis le pied à l’étrier aux futurs remparts du pays au niveau stratégique contre le terrorisme, le grand banditisme transfrontalier etc…En effet, le nouvel établissement a pour vocation de préparer les officiers supérieurs à commander des grandes unités et à exercer des responsabilités dans les états-majors d’armées, inter-armées et inter-alliées, entre autres.
Pour cette première promotion, ils seront 26 stagiaires à bénéficier d’un encadrement de haut niveau pendant 9 mois. Ils sont tous de nationalités nigériennes, dont 22 officiers des forces armées nigériennes, 2 officiers de la gendarmerie nationale et 2 officiers de la garde nationale. De cette cohorte de l’année académique 2021-2022, sortiront des officiers d’Etat-major et officiers brevetés de guerre, aptes à exercer des hautes responsabilités de la défense nationale, à animer l’Etat-major et à commander les grandes unités des forces armées nigériennes.
Pour le Chef de l’Etat, il était important qu’il préside personnellement cette rentrée solennelle. « Si j’ai tenu à présider personnellement cette cérémonie de rentrée académique de la première promotion de l’école militaire supérieure de Niamey, c’est pour conférer à l’événement toute sa portée symbolique. En effet, l’ouverture de cette école procède d’une nécessité lancinante eu égard aux grands défis auxquels notre pays est confronté depuis bientôt une décennie. Elle constitue en cela, l’expression de notre engagement de nous doter de tous les instruments dont nous avons besoin pour assurer la sécurité de notre pays », a déclaré Mohamed Bazoum.
Une armée mieux formée mais aussi mieux équipée
C’était aussi l’occasion pour le n°1 nigérien à travers une Déclaration de Politique nationale de Défense, d’annoncer des mesures et initiatives engagées dans le cadre du renforcement de la sécurité du Niger. On peut citer entre autres, une augmentation considérable des effectifs de l’armée d’ici à l’an 2025, la multiplication de la formation des forces spéciales, la création des unités amphibies, l’augmentation des infrastructures militaires. Au nombre des nouvelles infrastructures, Mohamed Bazoum a informé de la création d’une école de l’Armée de l’Air à Agadez, la multiplication par quatre la capacité de l’École des Officiers, l’augmenter des capacités de l’École des Sous-officiers, la création d’une école de formation des cadres et d’un centre national d’instruction d’une capacité de formation de 5000 jeunes par an à Keita, dans la région de Tahoua, lequel centre sera opérationnel dès l’année 2022.
Le président nigérien annonce un outre, un investissement tri annuel de plus de 150 milliards de FCFA qui permettra de doter les forces aériennes et terrestres d’équipements devant rehausser leurs capacités. Des annonces qui on s’imagine, ont été bien accueillies au sein des Forces de défense et de Sécurité qui, sont engagées depuis des années dans une lutte acharnée contre les terroristes et autres bandits de tous bords.
