La nuit du 28 au 29 octobre 2020, la communauté musulmane a célébré la commémoration de la naissance du Prophète Mohamed (sws), appelée Maouloud. À l’occasion de cette cérémonie, une lecture intégrale du saint Coran a été effectuée, et série de prières et invocations sont faites partout dans le pays.
Le président de l’Association Islamique du Niger, Cheik Djibril Karanta, après avoir fait des invocations, a rappelé que « chaque année, les musulmans du Niger s’associent aux musulmans du monde entier afin de commémorer cette nuit assez exceptionnelle qui a vu la naissance du Mohamed (PSL), le Prophète de tous les musulmans ».
En effet, presque partout dans la capitale nigérienne les fidèles musulmans ont manifesté cette nuit de mouloud par plusieurs actes religieux, tels que, écouter des prêches ou faire des Zihkr (invocations).
Pour cette occasion, le Cheik a invité les fidèles à prier pour la stabilité de Niger, « J’invite la communauté musulmane en général et le peuple nigérien en particulier de s’investir à implorer Allah le tout puissant pour que les maux qui minent le monde entier n’arrivent pas au Niger. Je prie Dieu pour que tout le peuple nigérien puisse vivre en paix et en sécurité » a exhorté le leader religieux.
