L’une des salles de conférence du Noom Hôtel de Niamey, a servi de cadre à une assise sur la revue sommaire du portefeuille des opérations de la Banque Mondiale au Niger, le jeudi 19 novembre 2020. C’est le Secrétaire Général du Ministère du Plan, Saâdou Bakoye qui a présidé cette rencontre à laquelle ont pris part plusieurs cadres de la Banque Mondiale.
Au cours de cette revue, les panélistes ont à tour de rôle, fait des présentations sur les bonnes pratiques, les modalités de gestion des projets, l’état de santé actuelle, les performances, les contraintes et les perspectives du portefeuille de la Banque Mondiale au Niger.
A sa prise de parole, le Secrétaire général du Ministère du Plan a déclaré que : « ces assises d’une journée sont une occasion de passer en revue l’état d’exécution du portefeuille ainsi que le contexte et la réponse apportée face au Covid-19 ».
« Je vous exhorte à accorder une attention particulière à cette rencontre afin de dégager les bonnes solutions de financement des projets pour le bien-être de nos populations », a-t-il poursuivi.
Dans son intervention par visioconférence à ces assises, la Représentante résidente de la Banque mondiale au Niger, Mme Joëlle Dehasse a rappelé : « le solide partenariat qui existe entre la Banque mondiale et la République du Niger’’ avant d’annoncer que « le volume des investissements au Niger est d’environ 3 milliards de dollars US et concerne trois projets ». Il s’agit notamment de projet sur les filets sociaux et des opérations dans le secteur de’ l’eau, du développement rural, de la santé, de la nutrition et la gestion des risques climatiques. ‘’Nous devons trouver des pistes et solutions afin d’accélérer nos interventions au Niger’’ a-t-elle ajouté tout en se disant convaincue que ‘’les recommandations et propositions qui seront issues de cette rencontre seront appliquées’’. Les participants à cette rencontre ont en outre discuté de la re-calibration du portefeuille de la Banque mondiale, ainsi que sa consolidation.
« Nous devons trouver des pistes et solutions afin d’accélérer nos interventions au Niger » a ajouté Mme Joëlle Dehasse tout en se disant convaincue que les recommandations et propositions qui seront issues de cette rencontre seront appliquées ».
Pour rappel, la Banque mondiale est un partenaire important de longue date du Niger, qui intervient dans plusieurs domaines dont celui relatif aux questions de développement. Il faut aussi noter que cette revue a vu la participation de tous les chefs de projets, les coordonnateurs de la Banque mondiale et des partenaires.
