Le Président de la République, S.E.M. Alassane OUATTARA, a eu un entretien, ce jeudi 23 juin 2022, au Palais de la Présidence de la République, avec le Président de la République du Niger, S.E.M. Mohamed BAZOUM, en visite officielle de 48 heures en Côte d’Ivoire.
Le Chef de l’Etat nigérien, qui est accompagné de son épouse et des membres du Gouvernement, a été accueilli à son arrivée en milieu d’après-midi, à l’aéroport international Félix HOUPHOUËT-BOIGNY, par le Vice-Président de la République, M.Tiémoko Meyliet KONE, des membres du Gouvernement et du Cabinet présidentiel.
En fin d’après-midi, les Présidents Alassane OUATTARA et Mohamed BAZOUM ont eu une rencontre qui a été sanctionnée par la signature de cinq Accords de coopération dans les domaines de la sécurité et de la lutte contre le terrorisme, des hydrocarbures, des ressources animales et dans l’enseignement technique et la formation professionnelle ainsi que sur les consultations politiques.
Au terme de cette rencontre, le Président ivoirien et son homologue nigérien ont animé un point de presse conjoint, au cours duquel ils ont exalté l’excellence des relations entre la Côte d’Ivoire et le Niger.
Le Président Alassane OUATTARA a exprimé sa grande joie d’accueillir son homologue nigérien et relevé le caractère spécial des relations qui existent entre la Côte d’Ivoire et le Niger. Il a salué la contribution de la communauté nigérienne résidant en Côte d’Ivoire à l’essor économique de notre pays.
Le Chef de l’Etat a souligné que l’entretien avec le Président Mohamed BAZOUM a permis de faire un tour d’horizon de la situation socio-politique dans les deux pays, mais également dans la sous-région et au niveau international. Dans ce cadre, il a dit avoir noté, avec son homologue nigérien, la similitude des préoccupations, notamment en ce qui concerne la sécurité, la lutte contre le terrorisme, mais aussi les questions économiques et financières ainsi que celles liées à la COVID-19, à la guerre en Ukraine et au contexte international de manière générale.
Le Président Alassane OUATTARA a ajouté que le Niger et la Côte d’Ivoire sont tous les deux, membres de plusieurs Organisations, notamment l’UEMOA, la CEDEAO, l’Union Africaine, ce qui leur permet d’avoir des actions de coordination très étroites.
A cet égard, il a évoqué le prochain Sommet de la CEDEAO qui aura lieu le 3 juillet 2022, à Accra, au Ghana, et a affirmé avoir harmonisé avec son homologue nigérien leurs points de vue sur certaines questions délicates, en particulier en ce qui concerne la situation au Burkina Faso, au Mali et en Guinée, des pays avec lesquels la Côte d’Ivoire et le Niger entendent développer des relations de confiance.
Pour terminer, le Chef de l’Etat s’est réjoui de l’attachement du Président Mohamed BAZOUM à la Côte d’Ivoire et l’a félicité pour sa brillante élection l’année dernière, tout en saluant l’alternance démocratique que le Niger a connue.
Le Président du Niger a, à son tour, réitéré son attachement à la Côte d’Ivoire, en faisant également remarquer la singularité des relations entre les deux pays. Il a indiqué que la Côte d’Ivoire occupe une place de choix au niveau de la sous-région, notamment au niveau de l’UEMOA et de la CEDEAO, et a tenu à saluer le leadership du Président Alassane OUATTARA.
Le Président Mohamed BAZOUM a également salué la stabilité de notre pays et relevé l’hospitalité du peuple ivoirien. Il a fait noter que la spécificité de la communauté nigérienne vivant en Côte d’Ivoire est de faire d’importants investissements dans son pays d’origine, le Niger. C’est le modèle de communauté, a-t-il ajouté, que le Niger veut promouvoir à l’extérieur.
Il a ajouté avoir entrepris cette visite officielle pour remercier le Président Alassane
OUATTARA, les autorités et le peuple ivoirien pour cette bienveillance à l’égard des Nigériens, mais aussi pour faire un tour d’horizon des problèmes qui concernent les deux pays, de l’insécurité qui envahi l’espace sous-régional, avec des effets et conséquences totalement inattendus caractérisés notamment par des coups d’Etat dans certains pays ces dernières années.
Pour terminer, il a remercié le Chef de l’Etat, le Gouvernement et le peuple ivoirien pour la qualité de l’accueil qui lui a été réservé ainsi qu’à sa délégation, à l’occasion de cette visite officielle.
Notons que dans la soirée, le Président de la République et la Première Dame, Mme Dominique OUATTARA, ont offert un dîner officiel en l’honneur du couple présidentiel nigérien, au cours duquel le Chef de l’Etat nigérien, S.E.M. Mohamed BAZOUM a été élevé à la Dignité de Grand- CROIX et son épouse au Grade de Commandeur de l’Ordre National de Côte d’Ivoire.
