Le forum de la Communauté économique des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO) sur les mines et le pétrole (ECOMOF) se tiendra du 16 au 18 février 2022 à Niamey, la capitale du Niger.
L’annonce a été faite par le Gouvernement du Niger à travers un communiqué et suite à une communication conjointe faite par la ministre des mines et celui en charge du pétrole lors du conseil des ministres tenu ce jeudi 02 décembre 2021.
Rappelons que cet événement initialement prévu du 1er au 3 décembre 2021, est organisé conjointement par le ministère chargé du pétrole et celui des mines du Niger, la commission de la CEDEAO et la firme événementielle internationale AME-TRADE. Cette 3ème édition aura pour thème « »intégrer les industries minières et pétrolières dans le développement des chaînes de valeur régionales’’.
L’ECOMOF, note-ton, vise à promouvoir les secteurs minier et pétrolier afin de permettre une meilleure contribution des industries extractives au développement économique et social des pays de la CEDEAO.
« Il est une occasion pour le Niger en particulier, et les pays de l’Afrique de l’Ouest en général, de mettre en évidence leurs potentiels dans les secteurs des industries extractives grâce au partage d’expériences et de savoir-faire, mais aussi par la création de nouveaux partenariats et réseaux », a commenté le ministre nigérien du pétrole, Mahamane Sani Mahamadou.
Le sous-sol nigérien renferme d’importantes ressources minière et pétrolière, notamment l’uranium, l’or, le fer, les terres rares, le phosphate, le charbon, le pétrole, le gaz naturel, Niger. Le pays est aussi producteur de pétrole depuis 2011. il s’agira donc au cours de ces assises d’exposer ces potentialités afin d’attirer les investisseurs et les politiques pour créer les conditions d’une plus grande participation des secteurs minier et pétrolier aux recettes des Etats.
