Une embuscade tendue par des bandits armés à une cinquantaine de kilomètres de Banibangou (région de Tillabéri) a fait 69 personnes tuées dont le Maire de la localité et 15 rescapées, selon un communiqué du gouvernement diffusé, ce jeudi 04 novembre 2021.
Le communiqué explique que ‘’le Maire de Banibangou en déplacement avec une délégation de ressortissants de ladite commune sont tombés dans une embuscade tendue par des bandits armés non identifiés’’.
Le Ministère de l’intérieur, par ce communiqué, précise que ‘’le bilan provisoire fait état de 69 morts dont le Maire de la localité et 15 rescapés’’, et indique, par ailleurs, que ‘’une vaste opération de ratissage est engagée dans la zone’’.
A cette circonstance, le Ministre de l’intérieur présente, au nom du Président de la République, du gouvernement, ‘’ses condoléances les plus attristées aux familles éplorées et souhaite un prompt rétablissement aux blessés’’ tout en réaffirmant ‘’l’engagement ferme du gouvernement à combattre la criminalité sous toutes ses formes’’.
Il appelle, à cet effet, ‘’la population à plus de vigilance’’.
Le communiqué annonce un deuil national de trois jours à partir du vendredi 05 novembre 2021 sur toute l’étendue territoire du Niger.
