Depuis son éclatement en février dernier, l’Affaire de détournement et de surfacturations au Ministère de la Défense Nationale, tient le haut du pavée dans les discussions au sein de l’opinion publique. Les auditions entamées par la police judiciaire de Niamey et des fuites récurrentes sur les réseaux sociaux animent toutes les conversations. Les échanges sont de taille sur la toile chacun y allant de son commentaire ou de son analyse sur ce dossier fumant. Les médias nationaux et internationaux ne sont pas du reste et pondent quotidiennement des sujets sur cette rocambolesque affaire qui, par l’ampleur de son scandale, a franchi les limites de nos frontières, a provoqué une indignation chez nombre d’observateurs. Le scandale des détournements de fonds au ministère de la Défense fait la une de tous les débats dans la société nigérienne à travers des fuites où les noms des grands argentiers du pays, des opérateurs économiques, des porteurs de lourdes valises, et des plus hautes autorités militaires et politiques sont cités dans un rapport qui fait état d’insuffisances des cadres institutionnels et réglementaires des marchés publics spécifiques et passe au peigne fin un total de 177 dossiers dont les conditions de passation, d’exécution et de paiement sont susceptibles de qualifications pénales.

Au vu de pressions soutenues sur les médias sociaux et plusieurs autres activistes nigériens et observateurs sur la scène internationale, peinés par l’impact négatif de ce dossier dans un contexte de coopération militaire et la guerre contre le terrorisme qui fait rage dans le pays, l’un des officiers supérieurs les plus proches du président Issoufou Mahamadou, en l’occurrence le Chef d’état-major de l’armée de l’Air du Niger, le colonel Boulama Issa Zana, suspecté d’être impliqué dans cette lugubre affaire s’est vu remplacer manu militari par son adjoint. La décision a été prise par le Conseil supérieur de la Défense nationale sous la présidence du chef de l’Etat avec à ses côtés, le Premier ministre, le ministre de la Défense Issoufou Katambé et deux généraux.
« Mais le limogeage du colonel suffira-t-il, alors que le pays pleure, tous les jours ou presque, la mort de jeunes soldats emportés sur les deux fronts du pays par les attaques incessantes des groupes terroristes ? » s’interroge les internautes qui se disent inquiets pour leur pays, sur sa gouvernance et sa sécurité qui est mise à mal.
