L’équipe nationale de football des moins de 20 ans (Mena U20) a enfin quitté Niamey en ce début de weekend, pour Nouakchott en Mauritanie où elle va peaufiner sa préparation pour le tournoi CAN U20 de la CAF, qui se tiendra au Niger du 2 au 17 février à Niamey et à Maradi.
C’est ce qu’a annoncé le ministre de la Jeunesse et des sports, Kassoum Moctar, qui a tenu à préciser que la préparation se déroule dans « d’excellentes conditions ». Des déclarations aux antipodes de ceux tenus, en début d’une semaine, par le président de la Fenifoot, le colonel-major Pélé, qui a évoqué des « difficultés à rejoindre Nouakchott pour une préparation optimale » du Mena U20, indexant indirectement la tutelle de manquer à sa responsabilité.
« Contrairement aux allégations de certaines personnes mal intentionnées, le ministère de la Jeunesse et des Sports fait de la préparation de ces jeunes une priorité », a indirectement répondu le ministre Kassoum Moctar, qui fait savoir qu’en rapport avec la Fédération, un plan de préparation a été validé par la Direction du sport de haut niveau. Selon le ministre, c’est ainsi que les joueurs du Mena U20 ont été mis au vert au Centre Technique de la FENIFOOT avec une prise en charge qu’assure le ministère du sport depuis six (6) mois et de rappeler, que le Mena junior a aussi récemment participé au Tournoi de l’UFOA à Lomé au Togo, « avec une prise en charge de l’Etat du Niger ». Selon toujours les explications du ministre, toutes les dispositions sont prises par le Ministère de la Jeunesse et des sports pour répondre aux exigences du cahier de charges de la compétition qui se déroulera du 2 au 17 février 2019 au Stade Général Seini Kountché à Niamey et au Stade Municipal de Maradi. « Ces deux infrastructures ont fait peau neuve grâce notamment à d’importants investissements de l’Etat. C’est donc près de 2 milliards de CFA qui sont mobilisés sur le budget national pour l’organisation de l’événement, la préparation et la participation de nos représentants à cette compétition qui regroupera 8 pays », a poursuivi Kassoum Moctar, ajoutant par la même occasion que, « s’il est vrai que nos fédérations sportives nationales sont délégataires de pouvoirs du ministère en charge des sports, elles bénéficient aussi d’un accompagnement assez conséquent de la tutelle ».
C’est une nouvelle polémique vaine qui a été donc évitée de justesse entre le ministère des Sports et la Fenifoot. Ce n’est pas la première fois qu’une telle situation de climat d’accusations et de défiance s’installe entre la tutelle et la fédération, notamment sur la responsabilité qui incombe à chaque partie dans la gestion des équipes nationales. Cette fois pourtant, l’enjeu est de taille et d’une autre nature puisque c’est notre pays qui accueille la compétition. L’occasion plus que jamais pour s’accorder les violons afin de réussir la compétition et assurer une belle prestation de nos joueurs.
