Ayant lancé un préavis de grève de 72 heures pour les 3,4 et 5 avril, les syndicats du secteur de la santé après une rencontre avec le Chef du Gouvernement Brigi Rafini, ont décidé de surseoir à leur débrayage pour poursuivre les négociations.
A l’appel de leurs associations à savoir le Syndicats des pharmaciens, médecins, chirurgiens et dentistes (SYMPHAMED) et le Syndicat unique des agents de la santé et de l’action sociale (SUSAS), l’ensemble du personnel de la santé du Niger a observé les mercredi et jeudi, une grève qui devait durer 72 heures. Ces deux jours, les activités au niveau des principales formations sanitaires ainsi que de certaines administrations de santé de la capitale nigérienne ont été fortement perturbées plongeant les populations dans le désarroi.
Dans un communiqué rendu public le jeudi 4 avril, les responsables de ces deux syndicats appellent leurs camarades à reprendre le service. Une rencontre a en effet eu lieu entre ceux-ci et le Premier Ministre, le mercredi 3 avril. A l’issue de cette entrevue « dans le souci de donner une chance à la négociation, les BEN SUSAS et SYMPHAMED décident de suspendre la grève en cours », lit-on. Les deux principaux syndicats appellent leurs camarades « à rester vigilants et mobilisés pour l’aboutissement de leurs justes et légitimes revendications »
Les grévistes réclament notamment le paiement des arriérés de trois années de bourses et des frais d’inscriptions de leurs camarades en formation à l’extérieur et le recrutement massif d’agents de santé face au “tarissement” des ressources humaines.
